Delusional Donald and His Top Trump Mind-Set
‘President’ Donald Trump is notorious for his racist and xenophobic views and actions *cough* travel bans against many countries *cough*. Well, his new racist view is calling the Coronavirus the, “Chinese Virus”. He is trying to justify how offensive it is to blame a race and country for such a terrible pandemic is, “It’s not racist at all. No, not at all. It comes from China, that’s why.” I’m sure if people went around calling viruses the, “American Virus”, Trump would not be happy. There are speculations that he is trying to deflect blame against him for responding terribly to the pandemic by naming and blaming it all on China.
Trump and Chinese Officials have been arguing over these racist views. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang stated “the despicable practise of individual U.S politicians eagerly stigmatizing China and Wuhan by association with the novel coronavirus…” Trump claimed there were allegations that the virus was from and Trump replied with, “Not as long as I’m president. It comes from China.” Trump here seems to be claiming he is a good president (because he is, right?) that protects his country but evidence says otherwise. On the 20th of January, the first official case of the coronavirus was reported in South Korea. The country acted swiftly and aggressively, thus meaning that they have contained the crisis. On the same day, the first official case of the virus was reported in the US but America did not act the same and arguably that is why they are currently dealing with the pandemic the worst. Scientists say that Trump missed a crucial six weeks’ worth of action!
Trump is so afraid of ever being held accountable for anything that he completely contradicts previous statements instead of admitting he was wrong, because there is only one way of getting out of a hole you dug yourself into, and that’s digging it deeper. Trump said, “I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic-“. This claim contradicts his previous downplaying of the danger of the developing virus. In some ways he led American citizens into a false sense of security. His excuse to avoid that he wasted 2 months ignoring scientific advice was claiming everything was “under control” despite how obviously clear that it wasn’t (isn’t denial just the best way to deal with a pandemic?). The irresponsibility of this shows he isn’t fit to be dealing with a global pandemic. "I knew everything. I knew it could be horrible, I knew it could be maybe good” (how could a virus be good?),” I don't want to be a negative person. But I want to give people hope too. You know I'm a cheerleader for the country” (please don’t put that image in my head) “— we are going through the worst thing that the country has probably ever seen." This statement sounds very much like he is backpedalling.
On February 26, Trump said the number of coronavirus cases in the US would be “close to zero” in a “couple of days”. DELUSIONAL. He claims it was all a ploy to give US citizens hope however he only succeeded in endangering his ‘beloved’ citizens, that he clearly cares about so much! He told people everything was fine and now there are protests against lockdown and self-distancing. What a genius move!
Talking of protests against isolation, in March, Trump was calling for coronavirus restrictions to be lifted and for the US economy to be “opened up and just raring to go by Easter”. Thankfully, he backed off that idea. Had he succeeded in his ludicrous idea, he could have caused so much damage and risked thousands of lives! He also wrote in a series of tweets:
“LIBERATE MINNESOTA”,”LIBERATE MICHIGAN” and then “LIBERATE VIRGINA”. These tweets are endorsing isolation protests. He wants to liberate people from lifesaving lockdown?! By encouraging protests that are causing so much damage already, he is giving these people who have been misled by himself, permission to protest and spread the disease. Trump should be protesting with the ignorant protestors (he would fit right in) because he believes that measures imposed by the states in subject had been “too tough”.

This tweet is Trump showing how infuriated he feels because he is being held accountable for the spread of the Coronavirus in the USA. He is making up evidence to defend himself, here he has said that the Coronavirus spread very slowly in the US. He has no real evidence of this but he is desperate to find anything to distract from his guilty-ness.
This article presents the undeniable evidence that Trump is delusional and in my opinion, not suitable to be the president of the USA. He ignored the blinding evidence that the Coronavirus was not under control and since then has been extremely sensitive to the idea that he could be partly to blame for it. He thinks the bare minimum is acceptable in this situation we are living in. I feel so sorry for all Americans having to deal with an ape in the white house who thinks injecting people with disinfectant is a good idea!
