The Trump Supremacy

With the American 2016 election now safely behind us, we can all safely say Donald Trump being elected is bound to bring surprises all around. One boy, however, was determined and confident of Mr. Trump’s victory since day one. I sat down with American politics fanatic Louis Mort-Hill in Year 12, a week before the Election Day, in order to get his opinion on the situation.

The two front runners are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Which of these two do you support?

I personally think that Donald J. Trump should be elected over Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Wow! You support Trump? Why is this? He isn’t the most popular man in the world…

Well, Trump is above Clinton in the polls, so he must be doing something right. People just enjoy making a mountain out of a molehill.

True, but he does get a lot of controversy. So why do you prefer Trump over Clinton?

He does get hate, yes, but Hillary deleted 33,000 emails and then lied about it. Also, her front running line is that she is female as well, similar to how Obama became elected due to being “The First Black President”.

Do you resent this change?

That’s not relevant. It shouldn’t mean anything. It should be based on policy. It’s over exaggerated. Hillary’s tagline on Twitter is #I’mwithher – puts emphasis on the HER part. Trump doesn’t use #I’mwithhim because a male President is rather common. But Hillary should not use the fact that she’s a female to try and win people’s support. “Her” is her main driving point.

Do you choose Trump because he is the lesser of two evils, or do you genuinely support him?

I support him. The wall idea receives controversy for being such an unusual idea, but there is merit to it. Mexicans are going to USA and causing the economic downfall, and the government aren’t monitoring it. Trump hasn’t said NO Mexicans can travel to the USA, but he intends to at least restrict such high numbers of immigrations. There is economic trade between America and Mexico, so Trump could easily cut off this trade as a means of ransom, until Mexico constructs this wall.

In addition to this, Hillary is Bill Clinton’s wife, so the reason that she’s such a strong candidate is: a) She was Bill Clinton’s wife. b) She was Obama’s secretary of State. c) She’s a democrat.

This has NOTHING to do with her policies.

Do you have anything else to say about these two candidates?

There should be no gun control.

No gun control? Are you quite mad? What about all those school shootings?!

Hold on, hear me out here. Yesterday, in Minnesota, there was a Muslim who went around stabbing people. The person who stopped this murderer, was an off-duty police officer, who just so happened to be carrying a gun. Had he not been there, the killer would have claimed more lives.

Also, while I concede the shooting in Orlando was tragic, this murderer was out to kill people. He was dead-set on that. It didn’t matter if guns were legal or not, HE WOULD HAVE GOT ONE, regardless. He knew he wouldn’t get out alive, and he knew he’d serve no punishment should he die in the shooting. So his means of getting a gun were irrelevant. For example, guns, while exceedingly rare, are also illegally obtainable in the UK.

So do you believe guns are required over here in the UK?

No, because guns are used in dire circumstances, yet the UK is not nearly as large as the USA, therefore, logically speaking, there is a much smaller chance of a threat. Introducing guns for guns-sake would be too irrational, as they are not needed like they are in America.

Well, thank you very much for being here today. Any last comments on the matter?

Donald Trump can make America great again if we listen to him logically, and Hillary should be in prison for the crimes she has previously committed.

Well, that certainly was a powerful interview, for certain. It just goes to show everyone has their own way of viewing a scene. And now that Mr. Trump is the president, 2017 is set up to be quite a year…
